I was a student in Lewis & Clark College and I used to live in Lake Oswego for more than a year and a half. I've been to Go Fish Go Sushi restaurant more than 100 times ... I am not joking ... every 2 or 3 days I go there during the lunch break. Jay Ho, the owner and chef, is professional sushi chef. I never tasted sushi that delicious in my whole life. I've been to so many places including expensive restaurants but never found one do sushi like the way he always do. He uses special recipes that he inherited from his mother. He is good with his hands. He is a gifted chef. My regular order is the following: Sushi Pizza, Crab Salad Sushi, Fried Calamari and Spicy Shrimp Tempura Roll. Of course, all other kind of sushi. Visit that place and you will never ever regret the moment you stepped in that place. I convinced so many students by joining me to have lunch there and they loved the sushi so much. I recommend that place for a date too ... Talk to Jay before coming and he will arrange everything for you ... he is a good guy, believe me. Go Sushiiiiiiiiii !!

this is a fast, tasty, and relatively inexpensive work-day lunch option (thanks to a special lunch deal). it is often crowded at the peak lunch and dinner hours, so we try and show up a little early, especially for lunch. there is a good variety of prepared sushi on the conveyor belt, and you can order anything else you need. the staff is friendly and accommodating when we bring our kids for dinner too.

Until the past few months this was my favorite sushi place in the Lake O. / West Linn area, but it's really gone down hill this summer. The chef/owner has been away frequently the past few months, and the quality of food has really slumped. Salmon nigiri used to be large servings of high-quality fish: now the pieces are small and the texture is not good. After my last three visits -- July, August and yesterday -- I'm giving up and will start looking for a new go-to place for sushi. It's still an OK lunch deal at $1.50/plate, but don't expect anything special.

Just found this place and we love it. Fresh sushi and great lunch special. Going to go for diner sometime soon.

We love this place! The rolls are good, the lunch special is a great deal, but we can't say enough about the fabulous service. My 3 year old son is loud and particular. Each time we come, they welcome him with open arms, make him a special sushi plate, and always ask before they give him a parting candy. I really like the agedeshi tofu (fried with excellent sauce), salmon belly, and the rose on fire is a big hit with the family. Thanks go fish!

Good spot for friends and family. Kids enjoy an open restaurant with the food on a merry-go-round. The wait staff was very patient and helpful since it was our first time. The food is average.

Perfect little sushi restaurant, beautiful and flavorful sushi! The atmosphere is clean, simple and staff is courteous and accommodating. The rolls are an artful balance of color and texture, so delicious....Rose on Fire is addicting!

Good food, not great. Great pricing from 11:30 to 2:30, $1.50 per plate with purchase of drink. Plus you can order anything off the menu. I'll return for lunch but will not go out of my way if I'm not close.

This is a hidden gem in Lake Oswego. I go often and have never been disappointed. I no longer live in Lake O, but will still drive across town for a lunch fix.

As a neighborhood, family owned restaurant, Go Fish Go Sushi has a very creative menu. If you like Avocado, you must try the Monkey Brains. You can order off the belt, but the best way to order if off the menu. If you are not into sushi, they have a creative array of Udon and noodle dishes. Teens often congregate here for lunch or dinner, as it is a nice neighborhood restaurant

The sushi is definitely delicious. I love the sushi train. This place is really decently priced at any plate for $1.50 if you purchase a drink. Get here early though because there's only so much sushi put out per day so later in the day there isn't as much. It always seems really clean too which I love. And the girls that work there are all so cute and quick. It's a good place to go alone or with groups. I definitely recommend going but not really something you drive to the other side of town for.

I was in there with my family and spent $50 between the 3 of us- now not saying that this is expensive for Sushi, but we were forced to order off the menu because the belt sushi was so gross, warm, and tasted like rotten fish. We mentioned something to both the waitress and she just said "you can order from the menu." We will not be going back here. On top of that, the bill came out to the wrong amount.
(1)Dan C.
Pathetic, anemic sushi offering. Waited patiently as large blank spaces where sushi could be placed on the conveyor went by. When something did come by it was measly and mostly rolls of rice. One plate of sashimi came by. Walked out paying for one plate.
(1)Jeff B.
Even though there is $1.50 per plate special the portions of sushi and fish are paper thin and the selection poor. You end up paying 2x.
(2)Alexis F.
MAKE SURE YOU WATCH WHAT YOU ORDER! The food was alright, that is the only reason I'm giving it 2 stars. I ordered off the menu, being that there was next to nothing on the belt. I pointed to the items I'd been looking for to the waitress for $5 and another for $4. I got them the were good, when I got my check I was charged double what was on the menu. I asked and was told what I pointed to was 'hand role' and instead of asking me the price difference brought the more expensive ones. No compromise was made for both our mistakes, did not find it a very good establishment.
(2)Mike A.
Maybe we went on a bad night but there was only one server and the food on the belt was extremely limited. The sake was good though. Too bad because the location is very good and across the street from the Lakewood Theater. Doesn't compare to the Sushi restaurant on West Linn.

One of my favorites in lake o. I go there once a week. Three words : CLEAN, AFFORDABLE, YUMMY!

Recently had a bad experience on a Saturday night - out of edamame more importantly out of rice!!! At 7:30?? Had some bad tuna - sent it back and was charged for it. Think this place has taken a turn for the worse - too bad - don't roll the dice here
(1)Jana-Lee G.
I was in the area one day about the noon hour with a hankering for sushi.. I stopped in and was a little apprehensive that it seemed pretty empty for the noon hour. I sat and ate 2 tuna rolls, one salmon roll, one basic with cucumber Krab, and cup of green tea. The food, was ok, but nothing memorable. Typically ? this would cost about $8 at a comparable establishment (read:track sushi), but I was quite surprised when I paid at the register to find it was $11.25. I found the value; size of rolls, measured against pricing to not be reasonable at all. Seems from the couple people that arrive after me to be a place where regulars go as the chef (owner?) knew their orders, and greeted familiarly. So apparently some think it's worth going back for. But for me? For the price? I would have expected to leave at least satiated..
(2)John H.
The chef there is an artist, everything you will eat looks incredible. If you are a fan of rolls, you will be in heaven as they have an all day happy hour for items on the train at $1.50 and they are all really good. If you are a nigiri fan, they generally don't have as much on the train and you'd have to pay full price for it.
(4)Tiffany D.
Do not eat here! The sushi here is bad. The size of the sashimi are paper thin. We arrived during their so-called "lunch hour" gap between 11:30-2:30 and checked out with our check a little after 1pm. This place is a scam. They entice you to order a $2.25 soda or drink per person so that you can have any plate on the conveyor belt for $1.50 each. Alright fine, but as we were there, the very basics of sashimi was far and few in between. I practically saw the belt of the conveyor more than the food. There were even signs telling us to be conscious of how much wasabi we want if pulling it off the conveyor belt to refill our dipping dish!! We sat down and were served with less than a dime size of watered down wasabi, a tiny piece of ginger and two edamame. This restaurant forces you to order something from the chef and in result charges you more than $1.50 because it wasn't on the conveyor. Who is to say that what we ordered wasn't on the conveyor when there is the "lunch rush." If this restaurant wants more business and states the open hours of when they serve sushi, the selection needs to be available. All we saw on the conveyor were oranges, salad, maybe a couple plates of salmon sashimi, tiny 4 piece mediocre rolls and cheesecake. What is that all about? In other words if you order tuna, yellowtail, mackerel, etc then they double the price because it's not on the conveyor. BEWARE! The waitress tells me that they are a small business and we came too late and the lunch rush is over. They don't want to waste food. Well, I feel that if the business is not ready to pour out the money for serving customers at the opened times as stated and not letting them stare at the conveyor with limited variety then things need to be re-analyzed by the owner. We have had better sushi. Just too bad that this was a total letdown.

Great sushi! The chef is very friendly everytime. I'm a college student on a budget and the $1.50 a plate with drink purchase always calls for a dinner out of campus. Recommended for people who want great sushi for fantastic price
(5)Pui S.
Not the worst sushi place ever BUT the chef/owner or whoever has really bad attitude & temper. Which is too bad because the sushi wasn't bad... I drove by this place 2 twice a day, it's always EMPTY!!! NOW, I KNOW WHY!!!!! I took a picture for Yelp, the chef/owner got angry and said "Delete the photos, you understand right." Wow, you can't take a picture in the restaurant in America!!!!!! Seriously, I deleted all photos from my camera (and I'm famous for my local photos -as of today I took 3785 photos for Yelp) & didn't check in... On the way out, he kept SCREAMING at us about deleting photos, my boyfriend gave him the ***talking to the hand (without looking back). Very unfortunate because I lead a big food group, every Thursday night, and I was planning help support this local business but NOT HERE! :(

So not impressed -- have been there a bunch (though never before on a Saturday) and always had great sushi. Today, sushi looked and tasted like it came out of the fridge. When we tried to send back some shrimp that was "off", we were told that we just didn't like the wasabi in the roll. The plate was left on the table AND we were charged for it! Altogether, not up to par -- hadn't been in awhile and won't be back anytime soon!

Like most other reviewers I enjoyed the terrific value they offer at lunch - $1.50 per plate with the purchase of a beverage as long as it is off of the revolving conveyor belt. The sushi was fresh, the rice just right, the chef and server were friendly and the place was tidy and clean and not all that noisy considering that we sat there for over an hour and by the time we left the place was packed. The chef and kitchen kept the conveyor belt packed with fresh offerings the entire time. The servings are generally 3 pieces per plate, my friend and I each ate 6 plates and I know I left stuffed - I generally order 3 or 4 items at a regular sushi bar but pay much more. I will go back for lunch with friends or on my own.

The lunch special is the reason I'll be back. That, and a fantastic diet coke. The sushi itself wasn't anything special...except for the $1.50 price tag. It was my first experience with conveyer belt sushi and I much prefer the taste of fresh made stuff. However, for the $1.50 price and the best diet coke I've had in the NW, I'll be back. Also, they were very sweet and accommodating for my noisy 18 month old. The waitress made sure he had edamame to eat the whole time. So sweet!

I've eaten sushi in dozens of restaurants around the world, including Tokyo, Taiwan, Korea, several countries in Europe, Canada, Russia and Egypt. Of all these places, Go Fish Go Sushi is not the worst, but it is a close second. If it matters, the worst sushi I have tried was in StPetersburg, Russia. We went to this restaraunt for a dinner at about 6pm. The conveyor belt had five kinds of sushi. One of them was very good - flat rice baked on a sheet of nori topped with some crabmeat and spicy sauce. The rest of conveyor belt selection was uninspiring, and what's worse, did not look fresh. We ended up ordering from the menu. We figured sushi basics would be a safe bet: tuna and salmon sashimi. Well, the chef said that he no longer had any tuna, and offered hamachi instead. Rather strange for a sushi place to not have tuna, but we agreed. A few minutes later - he offers salmon bellies instead of the regular salmon. Apparently they are out of salmon too. And it's not like the place was packed when we entered. We did not get the order we requested, and unfortunately, the substitute was not of the best quality either. After the dinner, I have developed stomach cramps, which I rarely have after eating in Japanese restaraunts. Don't know if it is the food, or just a coincidence. Let's hope it is just a coincidence. Pluses: cheap, even if limited selection on the conveyor belt Minuses: everything else. At least they did not use sour cream in their sushi like that place in Russia... Conclusion: don't go there for dinner unless all you want is something cheap. Disappointing.

Always friendly service and goood prices! The rolls are really fancy for the price and have a lot of sauces to make them extra tasty!
(5)P B.
One of our favorite sushi places. The owner is a great guy and staff is always welcoming and friendly and the prices are great for the amount of food you get. A regular stop for us!
(5)Janet M.
I really like this little sushi place, it's on the way to somewhere I have to go for meetings once a month, usually in the morning, so this is a quick lunch on the way back across town. They have a sushi track, or you can order off a menu. I usually sit at the bar and get green tea, miso, sunomono, a couple nigiri and a big ice water. The miso is very good, the green tea is nice, it tastes like sesame, which I love, and the fish is always fresh and delicious. It's not an inexpensive sushi lunch, but it seems reasonable, and isn't usually more than ten or twelve dollars depending on how much salmon and tuna I put away. I like the sushi chefs here, they are friendly and funny, and the servers are very nice and pleasant. I don't mind eating here alone at all, unlike some other sushi places I go.
(4)Amber L.
I liked how attentive the sushi chef and the server were, (quite a bit more than one would expect from a sushi train place) But the fish wasnt fresh, it had all obviously been frozen before, um GROSS! Thats not ok with me.

Now I know why most of these awesome reviews are for lunch specials only because dinner here is b-a-d. Fresh fish and delicious sushi even with the higher price tag, we don't mind to pay for them so the price and quality of food is not the issue here. The big problem is service. Don't get me wrong, the server was super nice and friendly. The problem is it was a busy Saturday night dinner and they only scheduled one server to wait for all customers. We had to wait for a while to ask a question and to ask for a menu. There was another customer next to us who just left his money on the table, got up, and left without the server noticed him. She was busy and overwhelmed with what's going on. Originally we wanted to order more food from the menu because there were not many options on the sushi track. We waited for a while for the menu and then we decided not to order anything else because we didn't want to wait. We got up, paid for what we ate, and left. This place has a lot of potential, such a shame that the management/owner couldn't schedule another server on a busy night. This review will be an upbeat one if he could because the sushi is great.

I have mixed feelings about this place because of their inconsistency. But overall, this place is okay. I enjoy their udons during cold winter days with a few salmon nigiri on the side. Like a previous reviewer has mentioned, their salmon isn't like it used to be. Their service is always great, and the chef always takes special requests for me. They seem under staffed but they're probably trying to cut some expenses due to slow business. They tend to close early without notice if it's slow which can be a bummer if you're a late eater like myself.
(3)Sophia V.
Great sushi for a great price! The chef is always welcoming and the specials are amazing! My favorite is the Rose on Fire special and the Japanese soda Ramune! I always bring a group of friends.
(5)Lisa W.
This sushi is served from a conveyor belt. I like my sushi fresh.
(1)Anna K.
Go Fish Go Sushi is a casual sushi bar near downtown Lake Oswego that offers menu items and has a revolving track with items to choose from. We enjoy lunch here often, as there is a fixed price for all items. If you like, you can also order from the menu or ask for a special item, but the value at lunch for what's on the track is excellent! The sushi chef is very friendly, and often offers us special items to try on the house. This is a really nice touch! The food here is quick, of good quality and is an excellent value. If you have not tried it yet, you should.
(4)Dea H.
Nothing special on their sushi boat. Ordered items were pretty good but away too pricey! Well, I prefer to keep patron my other sushi place on the SW 65th ave. To be fair I think I will rate this one as an okay place, but I won't be back because of the price.
(3)Annette D.
Not impressed. No guide to choices on the belt. I like to know the ingredients, and without a menu, you cannot tell what is inside. There were only about 8-10 choices on the belt and they all had fake crab and cream cheese- this is not sushi! Spicy tuna was mush. Very disappointing!
(2)Denise W.
Friendly staff and love their specials! Great for the price!
(4)Del R.
Go Fish Go Sushi is an upscale sushi-go-round with a great lunch special (11:30 - 3 pm) of $1.50 per plate with the purchase of a drink. I definitely recommend the green tea. Also, they have the best cuts of salmon I have ever seen at this kind of sushi restaurant, even better than many of the sit down style spots. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area.
(4)S B.
My Favorite sushi place in LO! The fish always tastes fresh an my wife and I are regulars. My favorites are the tuna steak dinner and the Oswego roll. The chefs are friendly and the vibe is fun and relaxed. The owner is always smiling and friendly. The sashimi plates are also plentiful. I also like the fact I can just sit down and start eating sushi of the track. Perhaps I need one of those at home.
(5)Don S.
Seriously, the worst sushi place ever. The other reviewers have clearly never had decent sushi. Maybe if you put enough soy, wasabi and ginger on horrible raw fish you can possibly hide the taste .......at most really bad places. Not here! Mercifully let this place go out of business.....will not be here a year from now. Not even with the really low price at lunch was this close to worth it. Silly me, I gave it two chances, as I thought the first time was perhaps an anomaly.
(1)Megan T.
I don't like to eat out often because I'm not really the restaurant type. But this is one of the few places I do like to eat out! Their happy hour is great. We also occasionally order a party-platter of sushi for a Friday night movie at home or whatnot and it is affordable, well prepared, and well presented, but much healthier than pizza!
